Uganda Presents FY 2026/27 Budget Focused on Full Monetisation of the Economy

Uganda presented its Budget Speech for the 2026/27 financial year under the theme of full monetisation of the economy through commercial agriculture, industrialisation, expanding services, digital transformation, and market access.
The budget was delivered at Kololo Independence Grounds by Minister of Finance, Planning and Economic Development, Henry Musasizi.
The framework reflects Uganda’s continued effort to move more households into the money economy while supporting production, value addition, services growth, and digital transformation.
The government has positioned the budget as part of its broader development pathway, with emphasis on job creation, private sector growth, public investment, and improved access to markets.
The 2026/27 fiscal plan also comes as Uganda prepares for major economic shifts linked to oil production, infrastructure development, and implementation of national development priorities.
