Tanzania Advances Emergency Medical Team Readiness
Morogoro | 12 June 2026
Tanzania has advanced its emergency medical team readiness through training on Emergency Medical Team 10 Steps and Emergency Medical Team Coordination Cell systems.
The World Health Organization said the training took place in Morogoro from 8 to 12 June 2026 as part of Tanzania’s efforts to strengthen preparedness, early detection and rapid response to public health emergencies.
The initiative is aligned with the country’s National Action Plan for Health Security and supports stronger coordination during outbreaks, disasters and other health emergencies.
Emergency Medical Teams are designed to provide surge capacity during crises, while coordination cells help manage deployment, standards, reporting and operational linkages.
The training reflects Tanzania’s continued investment in health security systems at a time when countries across the region are strengthening emergency response capacity.
