Rwanda Ranked Among Africa's Top Performers in 2026 IIF Investor Relations and Debt Transparency Report

Rwanda has been ranked among Africa's top performers in the 2026 Institute of International Finance Investor Relations and Debt Transparency Report, highlighting the country's growing reputation for transparency in public debt management and communication with international investors. The 2026 report awarded Rwanda 43.4 out of 50 points, placing it alongside South Africa as Africa's highest-performing country in sovereign investor relations and debt transparency.

The ranking demonstrates continued confidence in Rwanda's macroeconomic management at a time when the country is projected to grow at 7.3 percent in 2026, among the highest growth rates on the continent. The IIF is a Washington-based global association representing the international financial services industry, and its annual transparency rankings are widely used by sovereign investors and development finance institutions as a reference when allocating capital to emerging markets.

The recognition comes alongside a separate report confirming Rwanda's electricity grid is facing growing pressure from rising demand, with experts calling for accelerated investment in generation and transmission capacity to sustain economic growth.
