Kenya has intensified Ebola preparedness through a Rapid Response Team Training of Trainers workshop aimed at strengthening national and sub-national capacity to detect, prevent and respond to potential outbreaks.
The Ministry of Health said the training is part of measures to improve readiness following reported Ebola cases in neighbouring Uganda and wider regional concern over cross-border transmission risks.
The workshop focused on building technical capacity among teams expected to support early detection, case investigation, infection prevention, risk communication, and coordination during public health emergencies.
Kenya has not reported a confirmed Ebola case in the current alert period, but the Ministry has maintained heightened preparedness across border points, health facilities and emergency response structures.
The training reflects Kenya’s broader approach to emergency readiness, combining surveillance, workforce preparedness and coordination between national and county health systems.
