Flooding across Kenya is escalating into a humanitarian and development crisis, exposing infrastructure gaps.
Flooding across Kenya has intensified, with rivers such as Nyando and Tana bursting their banks and affecting over 20 counties. More than 80 lives have been lost, and tens of thousands displaced.
Homes, farms, and transport networks have been severely damaged, disrupting livelihoods and economic activity. Schools have been closed, and emergency shelters are filling up.
But beyond the immediate crisis, the floods are revealing something deeper:
