Strong GDP projections reinforce East Africa’s role as a continental growth engine.

According to recent economic projections published around mid-April 2026, East Africa continues to lead Africa in growth, with countries like Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania expected to post strong GDP performance.

Reports indicate:

• Uganda projected growth: 7.8%

• Rwanda: 7.3%

• Tanzania: 6.1%
