Health leaders from the East African Community (EAC) met in Nairobi to review and finalize the region’s Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health Strategic Plan.

The meeting focused on aligning national priorities, strengthening cross-border coordination, and improving health outcomes for vulnerable populations across Member States. Officials emphasized reducing preventable maternal and child deaths and advancing progress toward Universal Health Coverage.

The strategy aims to harmonize standards, improve referral systems, and enhance regional collaboration in delivering quality maternal and child healthcare services.

Regional health experts note that coordinated planning at EAC level could significantly improve service delivery consistency and accountability.
